Live It
Being skilled and imaginative in finding ways to succeed
Resourceful people live by the motto, “where there’s a will there’s a way!”   When you run into an obstacle, don’t just give up, be creative and find a way around it.  Many times people allow small setbacks to dampen their spirits, leading them to stop trying.  Success happens when a person is willing to shake off defeats and take positive steps to move beyond them.  Check out the resources available to you.  Friends, family, business owners, libraries and the internet may all be sources of valuable assistance.

Ask for Help
As one of the key strategies to achieving goals, asking for help provides a helping hand when you are having a difficult time.  Some view asking for help negatively, but in reality it can be a very smart and time saving approach.  Share your concerns and setbacks with others and be open to suggestions and ideas.  Look to people have succeeded before you, ask if they would provide any helpful thoughts.  You never know who or what may be the key to getting you on the right track to accomplishing your goals.

Use Good Judgment
Don’t allow yourself to make choices when you are emotional, tired or in a pinch.  Rash decisions often lead to poor results.  Allow yourself adequate time to review all relevant factors.  It’s okay to make a decision because you are passionate about it as long as you have taken time to also “think” about to ensure a rational decision.

Teach It
Some are lucky enough to know inspirational people.  These inspirational people are often also resourceful people.  They teach others to be capable and accomplished by being role models and mentors.  A budding entrepreneur shares how her mentor inspired her to try starting her own company despite a lot of obstacles:
“When Karen mentions she wants to do something, the next time you speak with her she’s brought her idea to fruition.  She determines her goal, maps out what she’ll need to do, and when she hits a road block she seeks assistance till she obtains the information and tools she needs to continue on her path.  She runs a very successful business and has a strong network of support.  When I told her about my idea she sat with me and helped me make a plan.  As time progressed my husband lost his job and a baby was born.  With each new hurdle experienced Karen was there, talking me through the situation and keeping me realistic.  She helped me sort out my priorities and helped me chart a new course.  When it was time to track down supplies for my company I hit another obstacle.  I looked on the internet, contacted what resources I knew of and still had no luck.  I contacted Karen and through her network she was able to track down what I needed.  Whether it is helping me complete a task or just being supportive, I know I can look to Karen as an invaluable resource.  She truly is an inspiration and I am closer to reaching my goals because of her.”
